Bra Making with Madalynne: STOCKHOLM!

how to sew lingerie

Visiting London was the highlight of this year. I was there for just 7 days, but did a lot. I taught two amazing bra workshops and explored a bustling, dynamic city that reminded me a little bit of New York. I didn’t travel when I was younger. It wasn’t until I visited Paris last summer that I got the wanderlust bug. I have now made it a priority to take one big trip a year. For 2017, I already know where I’m going. Stockholm, Sweden! Ask me why. Why? So that I can teach at B,Wears European Bra Summit. Holy shit, I’m so excited!

It’s a long way away, but I’m a planner, so I’m announcing it today. I’ll definitely keep y’all posted with updates as it gets closer. Hope to see some of you in Sweden!

Overview: Four years ago, Bodil Friman, owner B’Wear, thought that Europeans should have a bra-sewing conferences similar to Saskatchewan Stitches Conference in Canada, which entails 11 days of sewing bras, swimwear, corsets and other lingerie. The first year was such a success that Bodil has continued to do it since!

When and where: The summit is from July 1-9 and I’ll be teaching 2 of those days, on July 6- 7. The classes are held in Farsta, just outside Stockholm, and are easily accessible via bus, subway and train.

Cost: If/when you sign up, you’ll get a invoice for the “startcost” for the class (500 sek per class). In spring, you will receive the invoice for the rest of the class cost to be paid before the class(es). The classes will be around 3000 sek for 2 days and you can purchase here. Note: you can purchase the classes you want to attend – you don’t have to buy for the whole week

Prerequisite: Intermediate sewing knowledge

Project and supplies: Students will be using the Madalynne X Simplicity patterns. All fabrics and trims will be included in cost. It is suggested that you bring your own machine, but we can lend you one if you can’t bring your own.

Travel and accommodations: Will you be traveling from out of town to attend? Email me or Bodil to get recommendations on where to stay, eat and sleep.
