Easter Giveaway

The Easter Bunny won’t make his arrival until Sunday but I thought I’d get a head start on the giving. It’s getting warm, it’s going to be in the high fifties next week, and I’m in a good mood for Pete’s sake!

I say this seriously, Kollabora is one of my favorite sites for seamstresses. It’s founder, Nora Abousteit, and I exchanged a few words awhile back when I first discovered the site and since then, she has shown nothing but support for me and my blog. Every time I make a milestone with Madalynne, even if it’s minor, and I post it on my personal Facebook page, she “likes” it. I’m sure she’s a busy gal and the small gesture means a lot. I only invest in a company’s stocks I think they are a good company – Apple, Berkshire Hathaway, and Bank of America – and if Kollabora was public, I’d be investing heavily in it. I think it’s that good.

So for Easter, the site is offering one of you the basics – the things that are essential to sewing but sometimes get overlooked. How many of you go into the fabric store for scissors but forgo it to buy pretty fabric? I’m guilty too. So if you’re in need of the items above, enter this giveaway by liking Kollabora and Madalynne’s Facebook page (it’s okay if you’re already a liker) and tell me in the comments what you are asking the Easter Bunny for this year. Be creative and be sure to include your contact information.

Happy Easter!

And already liked Madalynne πŸ™‚ I’m really excited about this giveaway!

I’m asking the Easter Bunny to take it easy this year. I’d be happy to have an afternoon to relax with my family. After all the cooking is done that is!

I liked both. I understand the importance of small gestures. I got a thank you note from one of my students in my kids sewing class, and I put it up in my sewing room. It makes me feel great every time I see it. Such a little thing. I love your blog, and I agree Kollabora is pretty awesome.

This year I’m asking the Easter Bunny to give my 6 year old only enough candy that we won’t still be sifting through it by the time Halloween comes around!

I could totally use ll of that stuff… I can never be counted on to purchase the necessities, although I was VERY proud of myself for buying an expensive pair of all metal shears this week. That little rotary cutter would be PERFECT for all the lingerie making I am doing these days… Liked both.

I just discovered your blog today, and am really, really appreciating your style and your tone/sense of humor in your writing. I’m eagerly awaiting your next pattern download (the bra, the bra, the bra! from your procreations post, please?) πŸ™‚

I’m asking the Easter Bunny for this giveaway . . . to give to my sister-in-law. I have most of the basics and necessities (and quite a few sewing luxuries), but she is just now learning, seems genuinely interested, and will soon need her own equipment.

Beautiful fabric or scissors….I’d probably just close my eyes and buy both. But one thing that breaks my heart though is the difficulty of finding other useful sewing tools such as that rotary cutter. Probably because sewing hasn’t been much of a crafty endeavor here in my country. I know just about a few people who actually owns a sewing machine like myself. So for Easter I hope the Easter Bunny will hop on this side of my planet and deliver these wonderful goodies! Liked both Madalynne and Kollabora on facebook.

This looks like a really nice package of essentials.
This year I am asking the Easter Bunny the same thing as last year. That the weather in Belgium will be nice to me while I am visiting my family for the week. And to ease on the amount of Easter eggs because we never seem to finish them before the next batch arrives.

Thanks for your blog! I have it in my Reader and really like your style!

The other day I went to Rite Aid to buy body wash and ended up spending about $70. Happens to me all the time. I have gotten really good a fabric store shopping in SD. The selection is not that great and plus I have a load of fabric in my stash. The problems happens when I go to LA and end up at the Loft. I have had to buy a suitcase to get my fabric home. smh

Oh and I would like the Easter Bunny to give me more time and focus to sew.

Thanks for the link – I shall be investigating Kollabora a little more shortly. I love new sewing shops, though it does push the budget some lol.

I am not on facebook so can’t enter but that’s OK. I’ll be able to check out their listings in my own time anyhow plus the one thing I’d love the Easter Bunny to bring would be wellness for my little one. That’d mean she’d be at school for sure on Wednesday and I’d be able to SEW. Selfish? Yeah, a little.

(not to mention the nearest craft/fabric store is 30 mins away from the little town I live in )A friend gave me her old sewing machine recently and it is about time I start using it.
