In Lingerie News: 4 Favorite Bra Posts

diy-bralette

My mom told me to never talk about politics or religion. I’m following her advice and will just say that it’s been an interesting week here in the U.S. The election has definitely thrown me for a loop. Luckily, there have been a handful of lingerie making posts I discovered that overshadowed current events and are too good not to share. I found all of them on Bra Making Forum, a closed Facebook group that you must join if you sew your own undies. I’ve learned so much and know you would too.

  • Jennifer Fairbanks has a video series on how to draft a bra sloper. I found this SO fascinating. I’m such a pattern making / sewing nerd ; )
  • Natasha shows how to alter a full band bra pattern to draft an open gothic arch design.
  • Kat gives a step by step tutorial on how to create custom hooks and eyes to match your bra.
  • The Lingerie Addict explains what makes a supportive full bust bra work.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the feature, Madalynne! The Bramaking forum is such a great source of inspiration! Just one thing- my name is actually Kat, not Kelly.

I enjoyed the post about the different kinds of lace and how to use them in lingerie and other garments. I think a lot of us have been escaping into the sewing blogosphere this week, btw…

Maddie, thank you for the great inspirations. Yes, these last few weeks have been tough to deal with on the news level. I just escape to my studio to make something pretty.
