Recap! Lingerie News This Week

img_5650.jpg

There was a time that I recapped what I had read around the interwebs every.single.week. My favorite posts from fellow bloggers, articles I had discovered, my favorite pins. Inspired by Ying’s recent weekly round ups, which I’ve totally been enjoying, I’m resurrecting my old habit. Ironic that it’s happening the same week of Easter? Who knows if it will last, but what I do know is that it’s nice to dedicate a few minutes to read an article rather than scrolling through and double tapping on Instagram and Facebook.

SEWING:

I’m all about supporting my gals. I’m not just talking about my boobs, I’m also talking about other women who are kickin’ ass and taking names. The fabulous lady behind Orange Lingerie, Norma, released a new bra pattern this week, the Fenway! I have yet to make the Esplanade, which I think would be an awesome crop top this summer. Yay or nay? Gotta do my sit ups.

An old sewing pal, Rachel Rector of RR Lingerie and Sewing Gainesville, made a stunning version of the Madalynne X Simplicity 8229. Dang, she’s such a babe in her me made lingerie.

Sage approved the fabric for this summer’s workshop. So, all is now right in the world. Kitties!

RTW:

I have an exciting partnership with Spoonflower in the works this summer, and the inspiration for what’s to come is Morgan Lane. Have you heard of her namesake brand? She offers both RTW intimates and pajamas in fun, feminine colors and patterns. I loved Kate Spade’s spring collection, especially the multi colored stripes, and I’m OBSESSED with Morgan Lane’s colorful stripes too!

I collaborated with Philly’s best photographers, models, floral designer and hotel to create a lookbook for my fall + holiday line. Seriously, can stop looking at the photos! Jungle fever baby!

The Nina – it’s the best bralette for lounging. Seriously.

IN THE NEWS

Athleisure. It was the newest trend a few seasons back and it blurs the lines between active wear, outerwear and lingerie. I am still a fan of the trend and find it seeping into my own designs, but apparently, it’s on the outs. So says the Wall Street Journal in this article.

An old(er) post by the NY Times that highlights new, indie lingerie brands. If you’re like me, what’s happening in RTW influences my own sewing.

Have a great week y’all and hope
