Reminder: Sign Up for My Online Bra Making Class!

Just a friendly reminder that there are only a couple days until my online bra making class goes live! This Saturday, November 8th, I along with a host of other sewers and crafters will take part in The Sewing Party. It’s the first all-day, online DIY event and it only costs $40 to have access to over 30 classes such as sewing curved seams, custom corsetry, textile designing, sewing with knits and more. The best part is that if you’re not available the day of the event, you have access to all the handouts, projects, instructions and classes for 90 days afterwards.

If you haven’t heard about my class, I’ll fill you in on the deets. For several months last summer, I worked like a madwoman to develop a simple course that would bring my bra making knowledge to you. The category of lingerie is heavily guarded, but it shouldn’t be. In less than one hour, I’ll give you a rundown of sewing a full band, underwire bra from start to finish. It is my goal that you “leave” not only understanding how to sew a bra, but why it is sewn the way it is. The why is important to me.

Last, I’ll be announcing my in person bra making class by the end of this month. So, if you will be (or can be) in the Philadelphia area around the beginning of February, let me know and I’ll add you to the list of people who will get the first chance to sign up.

This sounds like an amazing course! Unfortunately I don’t have any time to participate but if I did I would! Hopefully I can take part in the next one!

Your picture just transported to my childhood for a moment! Growing up, my mom had that same cabinet for her sewing machine, unfortunately now long gone. The little blue ‘train case’ on the floor – my mom had a luggage set with that as the small case that one carried their cosmetics in. The little blue case like yours had a silky blue interior lining, with a mirror on the inside lid. I still recall the scent it held. I wonder what became of that set, and of Mom’s machine and cabinet. Thanks for the memories, Maddie.
