I’ve seen bathing suit styles like this, too. With your free pattern, maybe I’ll modify it for swimming. Thanks!

Okay, so what about us girls with bigger boobs? We can’t enter the contest? That’s not right. Or since I have a bigger chest should I make a small bra and burn it on Instagram? I talked to you about burning bras back in the 60s.. Yes, I am that old but I too want to learn new tricks!! Linda Lincoln SC

        Yippee skippy! You are fabulous!

Ooh! Awesome! Can’t wait for some C cup bras. Though I will be attempting to grade this up a bit and make one for me bc it’s just too awesome! Thanks for a wonderful, free pattern. :)

You can always make one to enter, doesn’t have to fit. Perhaps if you know someone that it would fit, or some young lady that would love to have a handmade bra. I myself will have to wait till one comes out for larger cups for sure.

That’s not an option. I’ve got too many other things on my plate. It would be like spinning my wheels. Time is too precious to waste. But thank you for the thought.

      Hi
If you are serious about making supportive bras for larger sizes, check out the fairy bra-mother on craftsy. She has two courses available there. She is Canadian, and with the new P.M. running the economy into the ground you may even be able to afford to take her courses in person in Ontario, or her once a year retreat in Saskatchewan. She may have “boob camp”, dates on her site. She has taught for a long time, and many of her students have become professionals as well.

Not trying to denigrate madalynne.com, (or any other bra- makers out there) her work is beautiful, serves her intended market, and clearly she is good at what she does. Just seems to me you are looking for another type of specialist.

This couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I am small and fed up with bra shopping. I’m so ready to learn how to make my own, and I’m pleased as pudding that someone out there is catering to us smaller sizes without trying to make us “look” bigger.

I’m besotted with this bra and my man can’t wait to see me in it. Thank you so much!

  • September 20, 2015

Lovely, thankyou for offering a free pattern and a sew along, very much appreciated!

  • September 21, 2015

Ohh exciting. I will have a go.

  • September 22, 2015

Added your sew along to my social sewing calendar! http://swoodsonsays.com/sew-a-long-calendar/ I’m too busty for this, alas.

I just made this bra with a scrap of jersy and FOE since I wanted to check the fit before I used some nice lace. Love it! I made it so that the lining is open on the edge so I could slide in some very thin bra cups for some shaping and to help hide nipple show. I really need to take a picture of the inside, I think you’d like the idea of removable padding option.

    • June 6, 2016

I decided to take a chance and show my ignorance, otherwise I won’t find out. What is FOE?

  • September 23, 2015

I am so happy that you have helped me find both resources for purchasing & inspiration for making bras for those who have AA girls. I just hope I can get everything together in time for you sew along. Yay!

  • September 23, 2015

ooooh, this looks very cute! I’m going to give this a go; thank you so much for the pattern :)

  • October 3, 2015

Very excited to use this! So much nicer to make something in elegant fabric than always buying bras labelled ‘training’ or ‘my first bra’!

  • October 5, 2015

I am going to try it by enlarging the pattern as I am a lot bigger than the pattern. (Not boasting, it’s no fun I can tell you!) I want something to wear under sarong on overnight train rides in India and Europe.

Hello. Do you know of a magazine that has clothing pictures with instructions on how to draft them? I remember when I was younger, when we went to a dressmaker, she had this magazine that had pictures of the clothes and instructions. Like we would look at the pictures of which clothing we want her to make. It’s been a long, long time ago so I don’t remember what kind of magazine it was. I have been trying to look it up online hoping that I would find something similar to that. Any idea? Thank you!

Burda? Is that the magazine she used? There are a few but that is the main one I remember. I think another one is Ottbre or something like that too.

  • January 30, 2016

Will the PDF ever be updated with instructions? This bra is so cute.

  • March 14, 2016
