My loves, where are you wandering to this weekend? I hope it is not down some alleyway as I am in the image (or should I say GIF?) above. But I do have swag in my step, right?
My week shaped up to be not so shabby, not so shabby at all. A lot of projects that I have been working on over the past month or two are finished or close to being finished. This weekend, I plan to sew the sleeves on a crop top that will become the first pattern I sell online (yay!). It’s short but not too short, hitting that sweet spot where just a teeny tiny bit of belly shows, and has a scalloped bottom hem. I sewed mine with a cream colored vintage cotton that has purple polka dots of all different sizes. It looks like it will be a to-die-for-piece (not literally, of course).
The dress….. the dress I will be wearing to my friend’s wedding in two weeks, the dress I am still in love with since I started drafting the first pattern, the dress I have written about so much is…. finished. It has been for about two weeks but I am waiting to post pictures because when I visit Florida (for my friend’s wedding), a wonderful photographer friend of mine, Valerie Petralia, is going to take photos of the dress, the crop top, as well as other pieces I have sewn over the past few months – a very poofy maxi skirt, another polka dot dress, and some other goods. I knew that while you all were posting pictures of your Colette and Renfrew creations, you were wondering what I was creating. Well, I’ve been keeping them under wraps until I can get good quality photos (but if you want to see a little preview, click here). Once I finish sewing the crop top, I will only have two things left to get before the wedding, a pair of shoes and a date. I think the former will with easier to find (and buy) than the latter.
I’ll be back on Monday with more on bras – the construction of and my favorite sports bras as well as the history of the bra and its shape.
