My loves, where are you wandering to this weekend? I hope it is not down some alleyway as I am in the image (or should I say GIF?) above. But I do have swag in my step, right?

My week shaped up to be not so shabby, not so shabby at all. A lot of projects that I have been working on over the past month or two are finished or close to being finished. This weekend, I plan to sew the sleeves on a crop top that will become the first pattern I sell online (yay!). It’s short but not too short, hitting that sweet spot where just a teeny tiny bit of belly shows, and has a scalloped bottom hem. I sewed mine with a cream colored vintage cotton that has purple polka dots of all different sizes. It looks like it will be a to-die-for-piece (not literally, of course).

The dress….. the dress I will be wearing to my friend’s wedding in two weeks, the dress I am still in love with since I started drafting the first pattern, the dress I have written about so much is…. finished. It has been for about two weeks but I am waiting to post pictures because when I visit Florida (for my friend’s wedding), a wonderful photographer friend of mine, Valerie Petralia, is going to take photos of the dress, the crop top, as well as other pieces I have sewn over the past few months – a very poofy maxi skirt, another polka dot dress, and some other goods. I knew that while you all were posting pictures of your Colette and Renfrew creations, you were wondering what I was creating. Well, I’ve been keeping them under wraps until I can get good quality photos (but if you want to see a little preview, click here). Once I finish sewing the crop top, I will only have two things left to get before the wedding, a pair of shoes and a date. I think the former will with easier to find (and buy) than the latter.

I’ll be back on Monday with more on bras – the construction of and my favorite sports bras as well as the history of the bra and its shape.

Goodness I’ve learned so much about proper sewing in the last few days just by reading your blog posts! Amazing! I’m excited about your new pattern line! Thank you for sharing!

Yay, I can’t wait to see what you’ve been up to! The dress looks amazing! I’m really excited about this weekend– my new serger is supposed to arrive today! But I can’t play with it TOO much this weekend… tomorrow is my last writing class, so I have a lot of homework to do before then, and my sketch comedy show is on Sunday, so I will be super busy. But then after this weekend, I’ll have lots of time to sew, sew, sew (and SERGE! Yippee!!)!!

Oh my, you are busier than I am. I hope you find some time to rest in this midst of your hectic weekend. And enjoy serging (threading those machines is a pain).
