about function and not aesthetic. Finishing my work on time, sewing, and blogging were not at the top of my to-do list. Staying warm was. Raise your hand if you were freezing this week. Okay, raise your hand if you slept in your winter coat this week (my hand is raised). My week reached a peak, pun intended, when I opened a can of Coke Zero and it froze while in my hand. That’s not supposed to happen in the real world, only in the movies. I never thought I would say this but I’m looking forward to the warmth next week – forty eight degrees. Did this Florida girl just write that forty eight degrees was warm? Oh my.

My bra making adventures are still coming along. You betcha, I’ve succumbed to flashcards. I’m determined to learn this lingerie-making stuff. Determined. In classic Maddie style, I’ll keep my projects a secret and then unveil them suddenly, like I’m about to do in the next coming weeks with the photo shoot I had while in Florida for the holidays. Shhh!

On the agenda this weekend are two mini trips – first to Glen Mills for a workshop and then to New Hope for vintage shopping. It might be cold but I’m intrepid. The intrepid Maddie Flanigan.

My hand is raised. It went down below -40 (with wind chill) in Montreal this week.

Oh my. You have me beat. I couldn’t even imagine 40 degrees below.

It isn’t that bad, really – at least one can layer for it. Excessive heat is far worse, as far as I’m concerned!

I don’t think I could get out of bed in weather that cold! Yikes!

It is so bitterly cold here, and as I look out the window, it is snowing something fierce. I’m completely ready for the warmish weather coming next week, though I have the feeling that my sinuses will be paying a pretty hefty price for that. Stay warm!!!

OMG, it’s so freaking cold! I don’t want to leave the house, but I have to.

Your weekend plans sound pretty great. I have to work all day tomorrow, but I have no real complaints. Except that I might be frozen when I arrive.

Oh my it’s stinkin’ freezing here too! I’ve been wearing many layers. Our pipes to our shower & our washing machine froze (none broke though) apparently our rental doesn’t have the greatest insulation…

My apartment doesn’t have great insulation either. Luckily, I live on the 3rd floor and the heat rises from the apartments below.

Oh goodness! I do not envy the cold you northeasterners are dealing with right now! Especially since you’re in my old stomping grounds! Eek! I will just silently enjoy my 70 degree winters (well, almost silently! gotta brag a little!)
Looking forward to seeing your lingerie shoot! And your weekend sounds like a blast! Enjoy! Will we get some sneak peeks of New Hope? I love that place…

I don’t know how you are putting up with that degree of coldness, I can’t even imagine. Hope if gets warmer soon for you! Can’t wait for your lingerie unveiling!

I hear ya, girl! I was on set yesterday for 16 hours and was pretty sure I was going to freeze to death! Long johns are a must (or if you wear tights to work, wear a pair of sheer nylons underneath them for an extra layer)! Can’t wait for warmer temperatures next week (and I REALLY can’t wait to see your next project revealed)!

The weather on the gold coast has been the complete opposite. Stinking hot days and nights. But luckily we started Imogen’s swimming lessons this week so that cooled us down a bit.
