was about last week. I was in Florida! It was hot, it was humid, and my hair went poof most of the time but that’s okay because I had a great time. For the four days I was home, I completely stepped away from my usual guise. I drank wine at my best friend’s engagement party (I don’t drink), woke up past 5:00 a.m. (I usually wake up before then. Yikes!), ate food that I thought I didn’t like (portobello mushroom pasta), and I even went to an antique car show (out of all the cars, I somehow found the Mercedes. Oh Maddie…) Best of all, and I hope this makes you laugh, I spent a ton of money on things I don’t need (I saved up a lot for this trip). Clothes, shoes, accessories, a mani/pedi (Essie Ladylike is my new favorite color), useless magazines like InTouch (Fergie’s pregnant?). I even bought random stuff at 7-Eleven, like blueberry coffee, plastic sunglasses, and $3 movies, just because I could. I have lots of photos from my trip that I will be sharing next week, including a visit to my old stomping grounds – Mishka’s Tailor Shop (I worked there for 3 years).

On Monday, the day I flew back to Philly, my batteries were at 100% and I was ready to get back to work. First up is finishing a red tafetta dress that has been on my sewing table for far too long. After that, it’s back to bras and undie sewing and the jumper pattern!

Despite being super busy with final collection at uni, I thought I would pop in and say hello! Sorry I haven’t been around so much recently. Still very much enjoying your blog!

Your time in Florida sounded fantastic! It’s nice to let go a little sometimes isn’t it? Not fun for forever, but a couple of days is ideal.

I am looking forward to seeing the photos and what sewed delights you come up with next.

How fun! Glad you had some time to relax and recharge! Would you believe that every apartment I’ve ever lived in has been within walking distance of a 7-Eleven? It’s not unintentional. 🙂 Happy back-from-vacation!

7-Eleven is the best, just like CVS and Target (or should I say Tar-shee?)

Oh the BEST thing about traveling is trashy magazines! I’m looking forward to that on my trip (fly out in a few hours!!) Sounds like you had fun. I think completely unwinding is just all around great!

What a fantastic trip! It’s great to work hard, save up and then treat yourself to things you wouldn’t normally get. Can’t wait to see the photos!

Sounds like fun! It is nice to save up a little money to be careless with once in a while. I always end up spending my saved up shopping spree money on food. Usually of the chocolate variety!

Spending money on chocolate is not a bad thing!
