Weekend: Christmas Edition

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

gone before I wanted it to be. Just like my hair goes in a matter of seconds when exposed to humidity – POOF – Christmas, shopping, gift giving, a meet up with Anto, a photo shoot, my birthday party, and all the other memories I created while home in Florida has come and gone like that (I’m snapping my fingers). “Where did it go?”, “Is it all over?”, the fact that I have to wait another nine months for the holidays to begin again is weighing a little too heavy on my heart. The holiday season is a pleasure through and through but its aftermath is tough. On January 2nd, I will return to ‘normal life’ but the memories will still be alive and well. “TAKE ME BACK! TACK ME BACK!” is what I’ll be wishing for. It will take a couple of weeks to get back into the swing of things and for the memories to become to rot and become old (as oppose to being fresh) but I know it’s nothing a little lingerie sewing and pattern making can’t heal. I am one lucky gal to have had a great holiday season to remember.

ah, maddie! i play christmas music till mid january to wean myself off the holidays… i agree, lingerie will save the day. oddly enough i dreamt last night that a vintage shopkeeper saved a pink and green lace vintage german (?german? no idea why) bra set for me because she knew i’d want it. she charged me five dollars. i was giddy.

I’m feelin’ the blues too! planning blog-ideas has got me looking forward instead of back this year which I think is a very good thing since I am oh-so sentimental. Perhaps this will help too: “You must learn some of my philosophy. think only of the past as its remembrance gives you pleasure” (Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice).

    Happy weekend!

I can’t believe that it is already over, but there is still the New Year to celebrate!

Oh man, I know the feeling! I’m so dreading the end of the holidays (and the return to work… in the cold, cold weather). Yuck! I’m planning to pump myself up by making crazy, over-the-top sewing plans that I’ll never finish. Then I’ll hole up until springtime stitching away in all my spare time!

Love these pictures – so festive. Also, I wanted to point out how perfectly your POOF italicized between dashes reflects what happens to hair outside.
