Weekend + My Favorite Links from the Sewing Web

Thank you for the sweet, heartfelt comments and emails sent last week about the anniversary of my mom passing. I was hesitant to post; no one wants to admit that life gets a little blue sometimes.

I have a really busy and fun weekend ahead. I don’t talk about it much I do a lot of freelance photography, especially at Madalynne Studios. I have several gigs Saturday and Sunday- one is a 30th birthday party and another is Sweet Paul’s The Makerie. In between, I’ll be working on Nina Warner, part deux. The newest version features a really cool back with interesting strap details. It’s also made with stretch panne cut velvet!

The following are posts kept me upbeat with their sewing related goodness:

Today, Alabama Chanin releases its newest book, Alabama Sewing Patterns. It includes all the patterns from their first three books on a CD, plus patterns and instructions for 12 new skirts, dresses, tops and jackets.

Can you believe Me Made May is almost here? Whoa! When did that happen. Sign up now on Zo’s blog!

Christine Hayes also released a book, How to Speak Fluent Sewing. I discovered her over 2 years ago and have enjoyed watching her brand grow. Way to go, Christine!

Katie and Marci are the newest ladies to catch the lingerie bug, making their own Watson’s!

I would sleep all day if I had a pair of Liz’s silk pajamas.
